In June 2023, the Blue Bay Sculpture Garden Foundation and the Instituto Buena Bista (IBB) entered into a unique collaboration. IBB is a professional platform in Curaçao for contemporary visual art of the highest level (monitoring quality and content), with (inter)national guest artists (including 4 ‘artists in residence’ programs). IBB offers young talented students between the ages of 14 and 24, from various backgrounds and backgrounds, a two-year creative and/or artistic preparatory course. This training should prepare them for a creative education or art academy abroad. The IBB continues to guide these young people, also during their studies and later helps them to set up their practice as professional artists. Starting this year, at the end of each academic year, an IBB committee selects work by two talented students for placement in the Blue Bay Sculpture Garden. Especially for this purpose, MNO has placed two switch pedestals in the sculpture garden, in a prominent place next to the golf course and the lake with flamingos. This year, IBB has selected a sculpture by Isaura Antonia and a sculpture by Reyhan Emelina, which will now be exhibited for a year on the interchangeable pedestals in the sculpture garden. Flamingos are the source of inspiration for both works, to which each of the students has given their own interpretation.
