Mission
The Sculpture Garden Blue Bay Foundation wants to give a powerful impulse to the Caribbean visual arts at home and abroad.
Vision
Sculpture Garden Blue Bay wants to be a leading sculpture garden where 3-dimensional work by artists from the Caribbean and by artists who work with themes or materials from this area are exhibited. To this end, we collect, preferably monumental, work that is accessible and made for a large and wide audience. Hiertoe verzamelen wij, bij voorkeur monumentaal, werk wat toegankelijk is en wordt gemaakt voor een groot en breed publiek.
Policy and activities plan 2024-2026
In the coming period, the board will focus on acquiring funds, sponsorship and donations to develop activities and give commissions to Curaçaoan artists.
The board wants to offer guided tours to (cruise) tourists in collaboration with the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), and to offer more tours for the islanders themselves.
To this end, products are further developed, tour guides are trained and ties with education are strengthened.
There are currently 44 sculptures on the site: 20 large sculptures along the road that runs from the entrance of the resort to the country house and 24 smaller objects around the country house. Until 2027, a strong emphasis will be on placing sculptures by Curaçaoan artists and building the sculpture garden.
