The ‘Labyrinth’ by Giovanni Abath (1974) is made of stainless steel, a material that is frequently used by Abath. The object’s play of lines cuts through space, allowing the artist to challenge the viewer, as in a digital game, to find the beginning and the end of the line system with his eyes. Abath is particularly good at concretizing an idea that eventually takes the form of a small or large object. His command of technology and the way in which he handles hard and rigid materials in accurate correlations is remarkable. The board of the Blue Bay Sculpture Garden Foundation is therefore delighted that this work has also been given on loan by the artist.
