Van Duijneveldt is a teacher of visual arts and an artist. With regard to his artistry, Van Duijneveldt is widely known as a painter of surrealistic works: skies, clouds and figuration can all be traced at a glance to that art movement. So too his sculptures make a similar impression. He often uses discarded materials in his spatial work. Science fiction is one of his favorite areas of interest. His Vimana is a science fiction-like construction that, due to its color scheme, evokes an outdated atmosphere and stimulates fantasy. Is this where the alien comes from?
