On the side porch of the plantation house stands an abstract alabaster shape on a peg in a pedestal by Babs de Brabander-Miltenburg (1924-2017) dating to the mid-1980s. She studied at the Academia di Arte in Curaçao with, among others, Dries Kreijkamp, who lived in Curaçao between 1973 and 1976. Later she focused mainly on painting. She made study trips to the Netherlands and the United States and followed a short course at the Art Students League in New York. She participated in more than thirty exhibitions, not only in Curaçao, but also in the United States, Sint Maarten, the Dominican Republic, Suriname and the Netherlands. Babs de Brabander lived in Curaçao for fifty-five years and died in 2017 at the age of 93. Her artwork was donated by the de Brabander family to the Blue Bay Sculpture Garden Foundation.
