Nic Jonk (1928-1994) made ‘Pacific Song’ in his twilight years when his health no longer allowed working on large bronze statues. The work depicts whales forming a heart with their tails. The red-coated metal is painted with bright colors that have been splashed and ‘drip’ like the painter Jackson Pollock did in his action paintings.
