The “Man of Steel” by Giovanni Abath (1974) was festively unveiled during the Isla Centennial NAAM (National Archaeological Anthropological Memory Management) exhibition. It stood there gleaming in the large courtyard.

Man of Steel, made of stainless steel and glass, represents an alien that has landed on earth from outer space. It hangs in a triangular frame and exudes a sense of mystery. There is no meat on its bones. But whoever wants to ascertain what aliens look like is hereby invited to send an email to the Foundation Board.
The exhibition in NAAM also included a smaller work by Abath who can artistically create what is going on in his mind. The artist does not shy away from large works, examples of which can be found on various roundabouts and squares in Curaçao (Soto, SDK, Brionplein).
