2. Martie Genger

Integration

2003
aluminium and plexiglass
41 x 56 x 152 cm

Genger (1936) is a conceptual artist. She is not primarily concerned with the aesthetic element but with expressing the idea behind the artwork. The three panels, which, taken together, represent the concept of “Integration”, are made up of flattened white, brown and mixed white / brown milk bottle caps, compressed between Plexiglas panels. The totality is a good example of her realized work, which can only be found in her own museum. This sculpture has been hung in the Blue Bay Resort welcome center and, along with the Johnny Walker Still Going Strong, forms the start of the Sculpture Route.
